Cookeville Pursuit Leads to Arrest of Wanted Woman

A Cookeville Police vehicle pursuit led to the arrest of a Nashville woman Tuesday evening

Authorities charged Nechelle Renee Day, 23, with Evading Arrest, Reckless Endangerment, Simple Possession, and Driving on a Revoked Driver License.

The pursuit began after officers responded to a complaint of possible drug activity at Key West Inn.

An officer made contact with Day who evaded by fleeing in her 2005 Nissan Sentra.

Officers arrested Nechelle Renee Day, 23, yesterday evening.

According to the police report, the pursuit led officers to the residential area of Lone Oak Drive.

During the pursuit, Day allegedly struck a rock causing damage to her vehicle and continued at a slow speed. Officers performed a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) ending the pursuit on Foreman Drive.

According to the report, Day failed to appear on weapons charges in Davidson County. Day also had an outstanding warrant in Robertson County for felony evading arrest.

Cookeville is holding Day for Davidson and Robertson Counties. Day’s local bond is 22 thousand dollars.
