Cookeville Public Works Receives One Bid For Spring Street Sidewalk Project

Cookeville Public Works department received one bid for phase one of the East Spring Street Sidewalk Project.

Director Greg Brown said that the bid from Rogers Group Construction came in at around $938,065.

“It was over what we expected but we’re just evaluating the bids now,” Brown said. “And we’ll decide what to do and how to proceed after we finish evaluation.”

Brown said that they evaluate the unit prices and compare the bid to other similarly bid projects. He said that the Phase I work will cover sidewalk work on Spring Street from Raider Drive to Old Kentucky Road.

Brown said that work will cover the sidewalk additions and all associated work including crosswalks, stormwater drainage improvements,  construction of ADA curb ramps, and the addition of a pedestrian signal pole.
