Cookeville Police Use Taser on Kentucky Man

Cookeville Police deployed a Taser to stop a Louisville, KY man at the Hampton Inn Thursday morning.

Anthony D’sean Marcum, 18, faces public intoxication and evading arrest charges and is being held at the Putnam County Jail on $748 bond.

According to arrest warrants, authorities responded to the hotel around 4:15 a.m. where Marcum refused to leave a female’s room.

Once spotted, Marcum fled on foot from officers. Authorities later discovered Marcum in the stairwell of the Comfort Suites, where an officer deployed his Taser to stop him.

The arresting officer reported Marcum’s breath smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet with red watery eyes, an indication he had been drinking.

Marcum’s court date is scheduled for Sept. 24.
