Cookeville Planners Approve Plat For 50-Lots Subdivision

Developers can move forward with a plan to build 50 single-family detached lots in Cookeville.

Planning Director John Ward said the West Towne Village subdivision will be located off Broadway Avenue.

“There is three new interior streets proposed, and the developer has requested to reduce the right-of-ways to 40 feet with curb and gutter design,” Ward said. “Public Works Director Greg Brown recommends the Planning Commission approve the request on the condition that sufficient utility easements are provided. The developer has included all of the front set back area of each lot as a utility easement.”

The Cookeville Planning Commission approved the preliminary plat for the project Monday.

Developers have proposed a 10-foot zero lot line for the homes. Ward said the Planning Commission approved a zoning amendment last month to allow that proposal to move forward.

“This amendment is still under consideration by the city council,” Ward said.

The Cookeville City Council will consider the recommendation next month.
