Officers initially made contact with Sells in the Cookeville Wal-Mart parking lot. Officers identified a driver that did not have a license and identified Sells as the passenger.

A search of the vehicle revealed a black backpack in the rear seat. The backpack contained approximately 5 grams of a clear crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine, multiple baggies, digital scales, and numerous unused syringes.

Sells admitted to owning the backpack. Sells also had $861 dollars in his wallet, but no occupation.

In a search of his person at the Putnam County Justice Center, authorities located another small baggie containing a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Authorities booked Sells into the Putnam County Jail on a $15,000 dollar bond.
