A Cookeville man faces charges after allegedly driving under the influence with a one-year-old child in his vehicle Saturday.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol arrested 38-year-old Jason Steward for reckless endangerment as well.
Arrest warrants state Steward had red watery eyes, an odor of alcohol, and was unsteady on his feet during a traffic stop. Steward admitted to the trooper he had taken Subutex – a controlled substance – in addition to smoking marijuana, drinking a beer, and shooting up Morphine the previous day.
Steward was booked into the Putnam County Jail under $3,000 bond and has since been released. His first court appearance is scheduled for June 14.
