Cookeville Man Charged with Domestic Assault

Cookeville police officers have charged Joseph Love Webster, 31, with domestic assault.

Officers were investigating a theft that had occurred in a wooded area off of Watagua Road yesterday.

While investigating, the officers determined that Webster had physically assaulted his girlfriend.

According to the arrest warrant, Webster had taken the victim’s wallet.

During the investigation, officers noticed the victim had bruises and cuts, including a busted lip.

Once asked about the injuries, the victim stated Webster drug her through a briar patch.

Webster is being held in the Putnam County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
