Cookeville Man Arrested at Red Roof Inn

A Cookeville man faces multiple charges after a drug investigation at the Red Roof Inn last night.

Authorities charged Benjamin Miller, 33, with criminal impersonation, possess, manufacture, or sell methamphetamine, and felony possession of a firearm.

Officers responded to the Red Roof Inn in reference to possible drug activity around 11 pm. Officers made contact with Miller in room 225.

Miller gave a different name and birthdate. Miller gave consent to the officers to search the room.

Authorities located scales and baggies consistent with the sale of narcotics. Officers also found a plastic container under the nightstand on top of a safe.  Inside the container, the officer found a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine.

The container weighed at 33 grams.

Miller opened the safe for authorities. Inside the safe, authorities found a Jennings 22 caliber with ammunition in the magazine.

Miller was convicted of felony possession of a firearm in Michigan. Miller currently was on probation.

Authorities booked Miller into the Putnam County Jail on a 26 thousand dollar bond.
