Cookeville Man Arrested For August 7 Pursuit

Authorities arrested a Cookeville man this week for allegedly fleeing a traffic stop earlier this month.

42-year-old Michael John Pigman faces charges of evading arrest and driving on a revoked license.

The original incident occurred August 7 when an officer driving an unmarked car observed Pigman driving a red Mazda on Interstate 40. After confirming outstanding warrants, the officer had a patrol unit attempt a traffic stop.

An arrest report said Pigman fled for a short distance before pulling over and dropping off a passenger. Pigman allegedly fled again, but officer terminated the pursuit due to unsafe speeds.

Officers located Pigman on Wednesday at his home on Dietz Drive, according to the Putnam County public jail roster.
