A Cookeville man has landed behind bars for strangling his girlfriend and striking her in the face Sunday.
Cookeville Police charged 24-year-old Levi Coty Stinson with aggravated assault Wednesday. He’s under a $50,000 bond at the Putnam County Jail.
An arrest report indicates that Stinson strangled the victim until she lost consciousness and struck her multiple times with a closed first.
The report said officers observed extensive injuries to the woman’s face and abrasions on her neck. Putnam County EMS transported the victim to Cookeville Regional Medical Center following the incident.
