Cookeville Making Final Push In Dog Park Grant Application

The City of Cookeville is making the final push in its application for a grant to construct a dog park.

Cookeville’s Leisure Services Department asks residents to share their support in the Boyd Foundation’s Dog Park Dash via social media.

Residents wanting to participate can use the hashtag #dogparkdash while mentioning Cookeville. The community engagement phase of the application process ends Sunday at 5 p.m.

According to a press release, Cookeville is in the running for one of 30 grants valued at $25,000 each to construct a dog park. A $100,000 grand prize will be awarded to the Tennessee community with the most overall support.

Cookeville has included the construction of a dog park within its master plan for Cane Creek Park.

Last year, the City of Crossville was selected to receive a $25,000 grant to construct its K-9 Cain Memorial Dog Park.
