Cookeville Fire Department seeking to hire an additional four firefighters.
Battalion Chief Daniel Snyder said potential recruits do not need to have any training.
“They’re a people person, someone that wants to serve the community that’s a big driver,” Snyder said. “We can train any skills that are needed as long as they’re willing to put forth the effort and want to serve the community.”
Snyder said the new hires will help the station cover some recent resignations and expected retirements. He said it will also help cover the city as it continues to grow.
Snyder said interested applicants can find the posting on the city’s website and on the Cookeville Fire Department’s Facebook page. He said individuals should apply before November 29th, when the department plans to hold the civil servant exam.
