Cookeville Council Approves Contractor For Police Station

The construction of the new Cookeville police headquarters will likely begin in December.

Cookeville City Council awarded the bid for pre-construction services to W&O Construction Thursday. The company submitted the lowest bid at $632,525.

Police Chief Randy Evans said construction of the 39,000 square foot facility would start December 20. He said estimated the project’s completion date to be 70-weeks later, or April, 2021.

The city will build the new police headquarters at the northeast corner of Neal Street and Old Walton Road. Construction will cost an estimated $14 million.
