Clay Library Board Of Trustees To Interview Two Candidates For Director

Clay County has begun the process to select a new library director.

Library Board of Trustees Chair Dennis Miller said six people applied by Monday’s deadline. They have selected two to move forward to the interview portion. Miller said that they are looking for a particular kind of person to fill the role.

“Some library experience and the willingness to learn more,” Miller said. “And to be able to manage the operations of the library.”

Miller said that interviews will be conducted in two weeks. Former Library Director Judith Cutright worked for the Clay County Library for some 27 years before recently taking a position with the Overton County Library.

“She has done a magnificent job,” Miller said. “(…) And although we hated to lose her, we just are simply trying to find a person to take the reins here moving forward.”
