Clay County, IDB, And Celina Partnering For Sewer Upgrades

Three entities in Clay County are partnering under an Appalachian Regional Commission grant for sewer improvements.

Clay County Mayor Dale Reagan said the city has had sewer problems for some time and have working to improve them. He said the Industrial Development Board had an opportunity to apply for a grant to help the city upgrade a sewer line.

“It’s a win-win for everybody and so that being said, it’s a little over a half a million dollar project, and that comes with a matching portion,” Reagan said. “And the county agreed to do about $50,000 I believe is what it was.”

Reagan said the sewer improvements will help the city upgrade a section of sewer line that goes from the sewer plant towards the city. He said that will help upgrade the portion that runs by the industrial park.

Reagan the upgrades are currently underway. He said he does not have an exact timeline for completion.
