Clay Co. Conducting Damage Surveys For Weekend Flooding

Clay County Emergency Management is asking residents to participate in a damage assessment survey for last weekend’s flooding.

EMA Director Kyle Haney said the information will be used by the county highway department and TEMA to gauge the extent of damage.

“We have the URL posted on the Clay County Emergency Management Facebook Page,” Haney said. “If anyone would like to report damage, they can just go and click on that link there and report the damage. There is also a tab to upload a photo.”

Haney said community feedback is encouraged as road crews continue to find isolated roads with flood damage. Haney said TEMA will receive a compiled report and provide resources based on the need.

“For the most part, the Clay County Highway Department has been doing a good job with repairing the roads,” Haney said. “We just want to get a better understand what is flooded for future references that way we can prepare and mitigate.”

If you do not have access to internet, call emergency services at 931-243-0000 to submit a damage assessment.
