Chamber of Commerce to Re-market Jackson County

The Gainesboro- Jackson County Chamber of Commerce is looking to rebrand the county.

Chamber President Jordan Hunter said having a vision for the county can bring more economic growth.

“I felt like, as a chamber, we were kind of stagnant and didn’t really know a direction to go in. So what we wanted to do was to find a direction,” Hunter said. “And this is the first step to that. And I think overall we want to try to get a brand for Jackson County.”

The Chamber of Commerce worked with county officials and Tennessee Tech to create an analysis of the county.

Hunter said the branding can reinforce a focused vision of Jackson County, including themes of nature and history.

“We are looking at it more like a business approach to what we are selling and it seems like it is going pretty well,” Hunter said. “I am pretty impressed with how people have really gotten behind it and our membership has really got underneath us and come together.”

Hunter said he wishes to get old and new residents involved in the vision and design process.

“The more the community gets behind it, the more it will grow, and then from there,” Hunter said. “I think in the next year, I hope that everybody knows. When you think of Jackson County in the community this is what we do.”

Hunter said the branding will involve a logo and county colors.

Hunter said the chamber should have a strong concept for branding by late August or early September.
