Center Hill Lake experienced a lake turnover that caused an increase of algae.
The Cookeville Department of Water Quality Control Director Ronnie J. Kelly released a statement Saturday concerning a musty taste in the water.
The press release stated that the ongoing construction project at the water plant prevented the department from feeding an optimum dose of activated carbon to completely remove the taste.
Kelly said the department will adjust the treatment process to address the issue.
According to the statement, the water meets all safety standards.
