Multiple Accidents Congest I-40 in Cookeville Friday

The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to three separate accidents within minutes of each other on I-40 in Cookeville Friday. A Cookeville man listed on the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry was arrested at his residence on Walnut Avenue early Friday morning. The Putnam County Jail Roster lists 33-year-old Jimmy Joe Smith with one count of residential and work restriction. Allardt Pumpkin Festival Set For Saturday

The town of Allardt could be home to another record breaking pumpkin this weekend. The 27th Allardt Great Pumpkin Festival takes place Saturday. Previous festivals have featured giant pumpkins with weights that toppled records from Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia.
