The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said it made an error when recording a small earthquake in White County Monday. The USGS reported the 2.5 magnitude quake on its data maps Tuesday morning. A Monday evening fire damaged a home in Baxter. Baxter Fire Department officials said the blaze started in a garage adjacent to a home on Dyer Ridge Road.
