A California man lost control of the tractor trailer he was driving Saturday night causing the vehicle to flip near mile marker 270. 79-year-old Jaswant Sandha was travelling westbound in the right lane and he negotiated a right curve and lost control. Nearly 3 Inches Of Rain Over Northern Counties

Northern areas of the Upper Cumberland saw training rain and thunder Saturday night as storms trained out of Kentucky. By 3:40am Sunday morning, one National Weather Service observer reported 2.77 inches of rain in Celina. An overturned tractor trailer has a portion of Putnam County’s Interstate 40 closed Saturday night. The westbound lanes of the interstate are completely closed as of 10:30pm following the rollover. Cumberland Co Deputy Shot, Airlifted To Knoxville

A Cumberland County Sheriffs Deputy was airlifted to University of Tennessee Medical Center Saturday night after a shooting on Chestnut Hill Road. The deputy responded to a suspicious person call just after 7pm. The deputy exchanged gunfire with an unnamed suspect. The deputy was wounded on the upper right side. Construction Saturday afternoon on Interstate 40 has slowed traffic. Westbound lanes near mile marker 270 in Putnam County are slowed between the Smithville and Buffalo Valley exits. Putnam Expected To Make FEMA Submission Next Week

Putnam County officials expect to submit the final report on the March 3rd tornado to FEMA next week. Mayor Randy Porter said the report includes expenses of overtime hours and law enforcement work around $3 million. City Of Spencer Passes Status Quo Budget

The new Spencer budget includes no new tax increase. Spencer Mayor and Board of Aldermen passed a $587,000 budget.
