Byrdstown city hall has fully reopened after closing at the beginning of this week for renovations.
Mayor Sam Gibson said about $23,000 of work was completed.
“We’ve gave the flooring and city hall a new look,” Gibson said. “We’ve eliminated a lot of carpet and tile that has been there seems like forever. Now we have new hardwood there, and it looks really good.”
Gibson said only a few backrooms need to be completed but that should not impact residents. Gibson said some of the carpet dates back to the 1980’s.
Gibson said work also continues across the street from city hall. Gibson said paving around its remodeled Gulf Gas Station is set to begin Monday.
