Burnt Body Found In Putnam Co.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burnt body that was found near Pow Road, south of Baxter.

Deputies responded to a burnt vehicle call Monday evening. On arrival, they found a burnt GMC Sonoma in a creek at the end of the road. An unidentified white male was partially outside of the vehicle.

The cause of death is undetermined at this time. The body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office for autopsy in Nashville. Pow Road is located about two miles south of Baxter.
