Authorities Searching for Suspect in Bunker Hill Road Shooting

Authorities are searching for a man in connection with a shooting that left three people injured.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office reports 38-year-old Avert Lee Johnson, also known as “Kojack,” is wanted following an incident that occurred on Bunker Hill Road near White County Friday evening.

A 26-year-old White County man was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville after being injured in the shooting. He is currently in stable condition.

A 31-year-old male and a 31-year-old female also suffered non-life-threatening injuries from an assault during the incident.

Johnson is described as bald 5-foot, 10-inch tall white male weighing approximately 180 pounds with tattoos. Johnson is also described as having brown facial hair and is reportedly affiliated with the Aryan Brotherhood.

Authorities say Johnson is likely armed and considered dangerous and in the company of a white female with dark hair. Anyone with information on Johnson’s whereabouts are encouraged to contact law enforcement immediately.

The Bunker Hill incident is not related to the shooting that took place on Quebeck Road in White County the same evening.
