Household Hazardous Waste Collection Saturday

TDEC will host a household hazardous waste collection in Cumberland County this weekend. Any Tennessee resident can bring items like cleaning fluids, pesticides and batteries to dispose of properly. Pickett SD Gets Narcan Training

Pickett County Sheriff’s office employees recently received training in Naloxone, commonly known as Narcan. The employees will be able to use the drug to potentially reverse opioid overdoses. The state will provide Narcan to law enforcement statewide. Missing Cumberland Woman Found Safe

Authorities have located a missing Cumberland County woman. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department announced 31-year-old Shanin Leedora Mehle was located safely shortly before 3:30 p.m. Friday. No other details were available. JCSO Seizes Drugs, Cash In Traffic Stop

Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies seized cash and pills recently. According to a written statement, K9 Officer Ridge Long discovered drugs during a traffic stop on Highway 56. In all, prescription pills packaged for resale and $700 cash was discovered. The Sheriff’s Department believes the cash is the proceeds of illegal narcotics sales. Read More »

Burton Branch Road Closed Until Oct. 30

Algood’s Burton Branch Road will be closed until Halloween. Solar Grid Opened Thursday

Officials gathered at the Highland Business park Thursday to power up a new solar array. Putnam County Executive Randy Porter said the solar array will generate electricity for the Cookeville electric grid. Car Crashes Into Cookeville Business; No Injuries

No one was injured after a car crashed into Express Footwear on Interstate Drive Friday morning. The accident occurred about 9 a.m. Cookeville Police Lt. Bobby Anderson said crews responded quickly.
