Pickett SD Gets Narcan Training
Pickett County Sheriff’s office employees recently received training in Naloxone, commonly known as Narcan. The employees will be able to use the drug to potentially reverse opioid overdoses. The state will provide Narcan to law enforcement statewide. The training was provided by Tommy and Suzanne Angel of the Smith County Drug Prevention Coalition and was free for the sheriff’s department. Read More »

Missing Cumberland Woman Found Safe
Authorities have located a missing Cumberland County woman. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department announced 31-year-old Shanin Leedora Mehle was located safely shortly before 3:30 p.m. Friday. JCSO Seizes Drugs, Cash In Traffic Stop
Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies seized cash and pills recently. According to a written statement, K9 Officer Ridge Long discovered drugs during a traffic stop on Highway 56. In all, prescription pills packaged for resale and $700 cash was discovered. The Sheriff’s Department believes the cash is the proceeds of illegal narcotics sales. Read More »
