Burton Branch Road Closed For Construction

Algood’s Burton Branch Road will be closed until Halloween. Historic Low Unemployment Announced

Gov. Bill Haslam announced Thursday the state has historic low unemployment. Haslam’s administration has announced record-low unemployment rates since June. Smithville Man Faces Burglary Charges

DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Smithville man on multiple counts of burglary. 34-year-old Ryan Davis Taylor was initially charged after he allegedly broke into the same shed twice at a residence in Liberty. Benefit Golf Tournament For Williams Scheduled

DeKalb County is coming together to help it’s Chamber of Commerce director. Suzanne Williams was hospitalized following an accident while she was at a conference several weeks ago. White Co. Votes To Pay Sheriff’s Legal Bill

The White County Commission voted to pay Sheriff Oddie Shoupe’s legal fees without comment at a recent meeting. White County Executive Denny Wayne Robinson said the county would have to pay the bill. DeKalb Man Sentenced On Assault Charges

A DeKalb County man has plead guilty to two counts of aggravated assault. 35-year-old Nathan Trapp received a six-year probation sentence with 120 days to serve in the DeKalb County jail. TDOT: DeKalb Bridge Work To Complete On Time

TDOT said DeKalb County’s College Street Bridge repair will be complete on time. Spokesman Jennifer Flynn said Mid State Construction served as contractor on the project, which cost about $282,000. “The asphalt overlay for the bridge itself is scheduled to be done next Tuesday and Wednesday and the project is scheduled to complete on time,” Flynn said.
