Joshua Pyles will die in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of first degree murder Friday. Pyles received a 51-year-sentence for both murder charges. A Friday morning fire has damaged the Monterey Save-A-Lot. Monterey Fire Chief Kevin Peters said he believes the blaze started in the store’s stock room. A cause of the fire is not yet known. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three people on drug charges. The arrests stem from an investigation by the Office’s Narcotic Division. Authorities have identified a body found in Fentress County back in March as Ray Von Newman. Newman reported missing by his family in January of 2005. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency recently discovered a dead alligator snapping turtle at Center Hill Lake.
