Trial For Murdered Pinup Model Underway In Nashville

The trial for a man accused of killing a former Cumberland County resident began today. Caleb Cannon is charged in the 2014 death of 36-year-old Nikki Burgess. Burgess disappeared in Nashville and a former cellmate told investigators that Cannon confessed to killing Burgess and dumping her body in Knoxville. Her body has never been found. Pyles Pleads Guilty To 2014 Double Homicide

Joshua Pyles will die in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of first degree murder Friday. Pyles received a 51-year-sentence for both murder charges. He also received an 18-year-sentence for the charge of especially aggravated robbery. He will not be eligible for parole until at least 70 years. Fire Damages Monterey Save-A-Lot

A Friday morning fire has damaged the Monterey Save-A-Lot. Monterey Fire Chief Kevin Peters said he believes the blaze started in the store’s stock room. A cause of the fire is not yet known. PCSO Arrests Three People On Drug Charges

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three people on drug charges. The arrests stem from an investigation by the Office’s Narcotic Division. Authorities have charged 29-year-old Jamie Lee Rodgers with sell and delivery of oxycodone. Body Found In Fentress County Identified

Authorities have identified a body found in Fentress County back in March as Ray Von Newman. Newman reported missing by his family in January of 2005. Alligator Snapping Turtle Found At Center Hill Lake

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency recently discovered a dead alligator snapping turtle at Center Hill Lake.
