Putnam County Sheriffs Deputies continue to search for a Monterey man missing since last week. 57-year-old Arnold “Chigger” Vaughn reported last seen near his home Friday, wearing blue jeans and a tan shirt. Putnam Reports $6 Million In Building Permits

Putnam County reported some $6.1 million in building permits issued during the month of July. The 44 permits puts the month behind only June, 2020 for most construction permits in the county’s history. The July number includes 30 new single family residential permits. Local Groups Search For Missing Monterey Man

Several community groups including the Monterey Lions Club Disaster Response Team searched Sunday for a Monterey man who is missing. Arnold “Chigger” Vaughn has not been seen since Monday. Crossville Man Charged With Murdering Wife

A Crossville man charged with first degree murder Sunday in the death of his wife. 33-year-old Rony Noe Ambrocio Cruz being held in the Cumberland County Jail without bond. The Cumberland County School Board voted Friday night to move the first full day of school to August 12. Three extra days will be used by teachers to prepare for virtual learning. Crossville Police report fake emails are being sent to local residents alerting the recipient to a supposed traffic citation. The scam started Friday. According to police, the email said the citation must be paid within 72 hours. It includes a link to an “EasyPay Center” where recipients can pay. The email and the pay link are both fake. A Smithville long-term care facility has a cluster of five positive COVID-19 patient cases. The State Department Of Health reports the cluster at the Webb House Retirement Center on Jennings Lane.
