Cookeville Changes Speed Limit For Portion Of Broad Street

The Cookeville Public Works Department changed a portion of West Broad Street’s speed limit to 40 MPH. Cumberland County Hiking Marathon Registration Begins Aug. 15th

Registration for this year’s Cumberland County Hiking Marathon begins Aug. 15th. Participants hike 26.2 miles on designated Cumberland trails and record their own mileage. Byrdstown Medical Now A Rapid COVID Test Site

The Byrdstown Medical Center upgraded its technology to provide 15 minute COVID test results. The center received the upgrades from its molecular test provider. ARC Approves Funding For Monterey Water And Sewer Project

The Town of Monterey’s water and sewer line project off exit 300 received final approval from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). The commission requires a review by a consultant before funding a project with federal money. Echo Valley Market Begins Rebuilding

The rebuilding of Cookeville’s Echo Valley Market has begun. According to the Putnam County Building Codes Department, Summit Builders broke ground earlier this month. Plans include a 3,600 square foot gas station and convenience store. Gary Patel submitted the building permit in July. The Echo Valley Market was destroyed during the March tornado.   Read More »
