ATC Automation Funds New Lab For Tech Students

Cookeville-based ATC Automation has gifted $90,000 to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Tennessee Tech.

The funding will create the ATC Automation Programmable Logic Controller Lab in Prescott Hall.

The 13-station lab will benefit not only electrical and computer engineering students, but also students from mechanical engineering, and manufacturing and engineering technology.

School officials said the upgraded lab will give students experience with the latest hardware and software in the engineering field.

ATC began operations in 1977 and has grown from two employees to nearly 300. The company provides custom automation and test equipment to some of the world’s most recognized companies.
