Another Beer Application Approved In Monterey

Another Monterey business has received the green light to begin selling beer.

The town’s beer board approved an application Monday for the Monterey Quick Stop gas station. The Quick Stop closed several months ago but plans to reopen in the near future.

Mayor Bill Wiggins said the station on Industrial Drive can begin selling beer once it reopens.

“The background checks have been done and everything has been paid,” Wiggins said. “The background check came back free and clear with no blemishes.”

A total of five businesses are currently selling beer in Monterey.

Monterey voters approved a referendum two years ago permitting retail package stores to sell beer.
