The town of Allardt could be home to another record breaking pumpkin this weekend.
The 27th Allardt Great Pumpkin Festival takes place Saturday.
Previous festivals have featured giant pumpkins with weights that toppled records from Tennessee, Kentucky, and Georgia.
Sumerset Kentucky residents James and John VanHook broke the Kentucky state record last year with a 1,594 pound winning entry. Second place went to Bruce Terry of Helenwood with a 1,353 pound entry.
The world record to beat is a 2,624 pound monster that was weighed in Belgium in 2016. The festival has never had a pumpkin weigh in at more than 2,000 pounds.
The weigh-off begins at 10 a.m. in front of Sandy’s diner and registration begins at 8 a.m.
An assortment of other vegetables will compete for weight and size awards as well.
