One of the biggest events in Algood has made its return this week: Quilt Week.
City Administrator Keith Morrison said that event started as a fundraiser some 32 years ago. He said that it has since grown into a city-wide affair.
“You know I think it’s for everybody,” Morrison said. “And I think we’re going to try to have extra events like there is going to be a model train display up here at City Hall, the Central Tennessee Model Railroaders will be here. So we’re trying to get all the crowds and get everybody that’s coming to town options of things to do. So there’s going to be a lot of options this weekend.”
Morrison said that other activities include an Easter event at the ballfields and a live history event at the White Plains Historic Home.
Morrison said that the event is for quilt-makers and quilt-lovers alike. He said that they’ve already had some 195 submissions for the quilt competition.
