The Algood city council will vote on the first reading of the annual budget Tuesday night.
The proposed budget calls for a property tax of 0.4887 dollars per one hundred dollars of assessed value on all real and personal property.
The budget includes funding for various capital projects.
Five hundred thousand dollars will go towards expanding the Fire Hall. Sixty thousand dollars contributes to the construction of a farmers market. The budget also allows for fifty thousand dollars in park and historic house beautification.
A second reading of the budget will take place on June 12.
The budget will go into effect on July 1st.
