Algood Applying For Security Camera Grant

Algood City Council will participate in a grant-matching program through Public Entity Partners.

City Administrator Keith Morrison said the city will apply for a 50/50 match to purchase new security cameras.

“For city hall, public works, possibly the new park that would all tie in together,” Morrison said. “Including fire hall and all feedback would be back here at city hall in a central hub, so that everything would be under one, central, security system and we’d be able to monitor all of our properties.”

Morrison said the total price of the cameras will be some $5,000, with the city paying $2,500.

Mayor Lisa Chapman Fowler said the city is already a client of PEP, and this application would allow the city to participate in the Property Conservation Grant Program. She said PEP encourages clients with property coverage to implement a plan of this nature.
