A broken air conditioning system has forced Cornerstone Elementary to close Wednesday and Thursday.
Officials with the Putnam County School System said Cornerstone students will attend Baxter Primary and Upperman Middle school for the next two days.
A notification to parents said students will arrive and be dismissed from Cornerstone as usual for the remainder of the week. Buses will transport students from Cornerstone to Baxter Primary and Upperman Middle and back to Cornerstone for afternoon dismissal.
All 2nd grade students will attend class with their teachers at Baxter Primary on Wednesday and Thursday. 3rd and 4th grade students will attend class with their teachers at Upperman Middle School.
On Friday, 2nd grade students will have their DoJo celebration at Baxter Park. 3rd and 4th grade students will have their DoJo celebration at Cane Creek Park. Breakfast and sack lunches will be provided at both locations on that day.
Morning and afternoon LEAPS will be cancelled Wednesday – Friday of this week. If you are interested in the Turkey Trot or Fall Camp, forms are due to classroom teachers by Thursday.
Officials said Maintenance crews will be working to make repairs to the heating and cooling unit at Cornerstone.
