Oasis River Church Expands Into Baxter

A new worship facility coming to Baxter, as the Oasis River Church begins services in early spring.

Lead Pastor Randy Roper said there is room for another church to engage in ministry work and spread good news. Roper said the official launch of the new church will take place in late March or early April of this year. Roper said the church is seeking individuals who are in need of refreshment and a new beginning.

“We know people, people, A lot of people who will drive forty five minutes to an hour if they like the church they are going to,” Roper said. “Now we want people to go, were not trying to get people from other churches, we’re trying to reach people who are unchurched, maybe they’ve been out of church.”

Roper said his congregation currently includes members from all over Middle Tennessee. Roper also said the church property will most likely be in Baxter or near the Western Putnam County area, possibly in Double Springs. Roper also said the “state-of-the-art facility” will provide plenty of space for everyone, along with new training opportunities, including a recovery ministry program.

“One thing that we are focusing on, that we have a lot of people interested in Recovery Ministry,” Roper said. “That type of thing, that’s really where the rubber meets the pavement, and also we want to be built on genuine relationships.”

Roper said the new church will create opportunities for renewal and connection. Roper said he wants to be both a friend and partner within the community of Baxter. Roper also said genuine relationships are built on trust, and his goal is to spread the Lord’s word. Roper said the community has been friendly and open so far.

“I’m telling you, Putnam County is, we are just so happy about living in Putnam County,” Roper said. “And being a part of what’s going on here.”

Roper said that spreading God’s truth, not his own, is what truly matters. Roper said all he can do is love and show kindness to everyone.
