Monterey Drug Dealer Once Again Arrested On Drug Charges

A Monterey man that has been arrested at least 30 times once again in custody on methamphetamine charges.

40-year-old Michael Howard was arrested Monday night. Through an ongoing investigation, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Drug Task Force seized some 28 ounces of methamphetamine. Howard faces a felony charge of Intent to Manufacture, Deliver, Sell or Possess methamphetamine.

Sheriff Eddie Farris said in a release that Howard is a significant narcotic dealer in the Putnam County area. Howard’s bond was set for $900,000.

“After being arrested for these three felony charges, and numerous other crimes, (Howard) should not be allowed to be on our streets,” Farris said in a release. “These types of narcotic dealers are what propel our drug users and drug dealers in our area. This behavior is unacceptable and, as your sheriff, ridding this criminal behavior from our community is of highest importance.”

Howard currently awaits trial on two additional class A felony charges involving similar drug charges.

In June of 2020, investigators executed a search warrant at Howard’s home. They found 14 ounces of meth, more than $10,000 in cash and items used for the sale and delivery of drugs.
