DeKalb Foster Children’s Fund Seeking Aid In Fundraiser Drive

DeKalb’s Foster Children’s Fund wants  to help the county’s foster children outside of the funds provided by the foster care service.

DeKalb Foster Children Fund Treasurer Annette Greek said that donations to the group can help provide dresses, toys, and other gifts for both Christmas and birthdays.

“I mean you know these are kids that have been removed from their homes,” Greek said. “And they’re in school with kids that have more than them probably. It’s just to help give them opportunities.”

Greek said that caring for foster kids is a cause near and dear to her heart. She said that growing up, her parents were very active foster parents to many kids.

“So they had like 50-something kids at different times,” Greek said. “And I’ve just been close to it. I’ve done everything but be a foster child.”

Greek said that the Santa For All Seasons, although specifically geared towards the holiday season, helps kids all year round. She said that those who wish to donate can contact her via her phone number at (615) 597-5023.
