Bloomington Springs Convenience Center Closes Next Week For Paving

Putnam County’s Bloomington Springs Convenience Center will be temporary closed for repaving Wednesday.

Solid Waste Director Doug Ashburn said the facility should reopen to the public Friday, November 5th.

“This has been needed for quite some time,” Ashburn said. “We have this one, and we’re also going to do Monterey, Burgess Falls and Buffalo Valley in the near future.”

Ashburn said other facilities in the county will be taking waste during the closure. Ashburn said the Bangham, Gentry and Silver Point convenience centers will all be open.

“Wednesday, the 3rd, they would be able to go out to Bangham at Hilham Highway,” Ashburn said. “Or, they will be able to go to Gentry at Old Nashville Highway, or they will be able to go to Silver Point at Center Hill Dam Road.”

Ashburn said Copeland Dirt Rock Pavement started preparations for the paving Thursday. Ashburn said some 2,600 square yards of paving will be completed.
