Doing Unto Others Mobile Mission will be at Sparta Life Church this Saturday providing free services and food.
Director Samuel LaFave said people can receive free health checks and haircuts thanks to volunteered time from licensed professionals.
“School starts back August 5th, and we said it is prime time to do some family engagement,” LaFave said. “Sparta was ready to welcome us to come and do our first official convoy there.”
LaFave said the event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. LaFave said participants can get hot dogs and sides. LaFave said the wellness exams include basic vital checks, physicals, nutritional advice and a brief dental exam.
“We have a lot of very interested volunteers from the church and from the community of believers here in the Upper Cumberland,” LaFave said. “We are able to offer those services as a volunteer state service in Tennessee.”
LaFave said parking will be limited at the Life Church Campus, so buses will shuttle to and from the White County Fairgrounds.
“It is first come first serve, so we ask that you get there as early as possible about 8:50 to 9:00 o’clock,” LaFave said. “We will get you in line and come bring your family and friends.”
