Evelyn Francis (Eve) Seveska, age 57 of Monterey, passed from this life Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee. Born Monday, July 15, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Darlene (Fuerst) Molenda. Eve is survived by her loving Husband of 24 years, Daniel Scott Seveska of Monterey; 3 Daughters Skyra and Matthew Dudley of Johnsburg, IL, Jessica Seveska of Luguna, CA, Jaimie and John Aister of Wheaton, IL; 2 Sons, Chuckie and Nicole Zdany of Wonderlake, IL, Joshua and Kelly Zdany of Richmond, IL. The family has chosen cremation and a Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers and Dementia Foundations.
Funeral Services for Vickie Diana Dyer, age 65 of Cookeville, will be held on Saturday, June 5 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Fox officiating at the service and family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Burial will follow at the John Young Cemetery. Mrs. Dyer passed away on June 1 at the Cookeville Regional Hospital. Vickie owned and worked at West End Market for 20 years. She was and Christian and loved her family very much. She is survived by her loving Husband of almost 50 years, Roger Dyer of Cookeville; and two Daughters, Amy Beth (Bryan) Crabtree of Cookeville, and Amanda (Lee) Phipps of Knoxville. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am until time of services at 11:00am.
Funeral services for Justin Clarence Tays, age 39 of Cookeville, will be at 12 p.m. Saturday June 5 at Hampton’s Crossroads Baptist Church. Rev. Maston Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow at Bohannon Cemetery in the Calfkiller Community. Justin passed away suddenly Monday May 31, 2021 at his home. He was born September 26, 1981 to Clarence Tays Jr. and Charlotte Stafford Tays of Cookeville. Justin graduated from Cookeville High School in 2000 where was a member of the CHS football team. He was an avid collector of low riders and classic cars. He co-owned and operated American Roof and Construction and was a member of Hampton’s Crossroads Baptist Church. Justin was an exceptionally loving father and husband, who naturally connected with others and easily established lifelong friendships. His caring way impacted everyone. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Michelle Nicole Montserrat Tays; two sons, Ezra Timothy Tays and Anson Clarence Tays; father-in-law, Eduardo Montserrat (Karelia Ruiz) of Miami, FL, mother-in-law, Monica Solano of Cookeville; brother, Sam (Beth) Tays of Cookeville; two brothers-in-law, Alan Monsterrat and Eddie Monsterrat of Miami; special cousins, Greg (Donna) Hutson, and Elizabeth Dodson all of Sparta; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence Tays Sr. and Gladys Tays Hall of Monterey, Lando and Ruby Stafford of Sparta. Justin’s family will receive friends Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services both will be held at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Mustard Seed Ranch.
Funeral services for Paul Davis Jackson, 83, of Cookeville, will be Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Paul was born October 22, 1937, to the late Reverend Leroy and Maggie Jackson in Jackson County. He departed this life on May 30, 2021, at Ascension St. Thomas Midtown Hospital, in Nashville. Paul professed a faith in Christ at a young age. Following his 1957 graduation from Darwin High School (Cookeville), he enlisted in the United States Army where he received two honorable discharges between 1957 and 1965. Paul was a custodian at the Cookeville Tennessee Highway Patrol Station for thirty-seven and a-half years. He also worked as a security guard at Cookeville General Hospital. His leisure activities included watching televised nature programs, doing crossword puzzles, and cake baking, fresh apple cakes being a favorite of several friends. In 1966, Paul married his beloved wife, Hettie Page. To this union, two daughters were born. Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Hettie; his parents; two brothers, Franklin Leroy (Lorraine, deceased) and Kenneth Dwayne Jackson. He leaves to mourn: One son, William Robert Garrett of Livingston; two daughters, Valerie and Phyllis Jackson, both of Murfreesboro; a devoted grandson, Jordan (Shandi) Goodloe of Cookeville; three great grandchildren, Tarelle Goodloe of Pikeville, Kahlia and Emeri Goodloe of Cookeville. Siblings: One brother, John Edward (Shirley, deceased) Jackson of Cookeville; three sisters, Dr. Ella Louise Jackson, Juanita (Richard) Stone and Eleene Okorji, all of Cookeville. In-laws: Charles (Garetta) Bartlett of Fayetteville, NC, Bobby (Geneva) Bartlett and Kenneth (Anita) of Celina, Jerry Bartlett and Sharon (Jay) Stovall, all of Louisville, KY. Also, he leaves a host of nieces and nephews. Last, but certainly not least, two precious and dearly loved fur grand puppies, ChiChi and Tank of Murfreesboro. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, June 5, 2021, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Leta Irene Beaty Norrod, age 83 of Monroe will be conducted 1 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Nolen Cantrell and Bro. Tommy Johnson will officiate. Burial to follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Norrod passed to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday morning, June 2, 2021 from the Morningside Assisted Living of Cookeville. Leta was lovingly devoted to her husband of sixty-four years and her two sons. She cherished her relationship with their wives. She received great joy from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed baking and cooking, especially chocolate gravy. Her pastimes included sewing, flower gardening and watching birds. She was an active member of Oakdale Baptist Church. Throughout her life she served the Lord by teaching Sunday School classes, working in Vacation Bible School and singing. Leta leaves behind her husband, Melvin H. Norrod of Monroe; and sons, Allen (Sheila) Norrod of Hudson, NC, and Sam ( Kathi) Norrod of Horse Cave, KY. The family will welcome friends on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until time of services.

A celebration of life service for Melvin Douglas (Doug) Hunter, age 62 of Livingston, will be held at Livingston United Methodist Church, 104 Roberts Street, on Saturday, June 5, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Lisa Harper Baker officiating. Burial will take place at the McFerrin UMC cemetery. Mr. Douglas passed away at Cookeville Regional Medical Center on June 2 after a determined 4 year battle with CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukemia). He was a 1976 graduate of Livingston Academy where he played football and basketball. He would then go on to attend Tennessee Tech graduating with a BS in Business Management. Doug kept a lifelong passion for athletics and sports. He was intelligent and inquisitive and interested in an extraordinary array of topics. He worked a variety of jobs from commercial real estate to factory jobs to landscaping and construction. He loved the outdoors, mowing, tending to his garden and writing songs and playing his guitar. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Odetta Hunter. Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the church just prior to the service. Funeral services for Ronnie Joe Hensley, age 65 of Cookeville, will be held on Sunday, June 6 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Bro. Edward Anderson will officiate at the service and family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. The burial will be in the Double Springs Cemetery. Mr. Hensley passed away in Smith County on June 2 surrounded by family. Joe was a factory worker and was a former member of the North East Church of Christ and a current member of the Carthage Church of Christ. He passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. Bill was born Friday, December 12, 1980, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Edgar Fasick, III and Linda Sue (Clinger) Harrison. Bill was a loving son, brother, father, and friend. He loved to play music, spending time with his friends, and writing music and poems. Bill was loved by all that knew him and he will be greatly missed. Bill is survived by, Mother Linda and Bradley Harrison; Son, Sy Davis; Siblings, Danny McCoury, Christopher Clinger, Bradley Harrison, Jr., Amber Anderson, Joshua Harrison, and Jarred Harrison. Terry was a loving husband and father and lived life his way. His greatest love was being able to spend time with those he loved. He married the love of his life of 24 years on September 30, 1996, Tanya Giese McBroom. Terry is also survived by his daughters, Teri (Richard) Hunt, and Rachel (Jonathan) Petty. Iva passed peacefully from this earth on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Signature Healthcare, Whitesburg Gardens in Huntsville, AL. She was surrounded by her children. She is survived by her children, Aldon Shelton (Johanna) and April Shelton (Andrew Schnell) of Huntsville, AL; and David L. Shelton (Jennifer) of Bloomington Springs; her ex-husband and special friend, Eldon Shelton of Cookeville. grandchildren, Darya Kline (Hunter), John-Riley Shelton & Hollie Shelton of Tennessee and Alanna Shelton of Alabama; sisters, Shelby Jean Fillers of Chuckey and Darlene Baskette (Richard) of Limestone. David was born Tuesday, April 14, 1936, Rushford, New York, to the late Paul Harold James and Mary Luckey. David was a truck driver and worked many years over the road. Survived by: Wife – Ethel P. James, Cookeville; Daughter – Denise J. Newberry; Son – Donald E. James. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to the time of services.
