Graveside services for Myra Elizabeth Chaffin, age 90 of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday February 2 at Burris Cemetery. Mrs. Chaffin passed away Thursday January 28 at Bailey Manor in Cookeville. Myra was known to many as my Momma Myra, Aunt Myra, Grandma and Mom. The sweetest human, she teased the Bailey Manor staff until the end. Myra loved the Atlanta Braves, baseball in general. A Cher TV special was reason to pop corn. To this day, her love of pop singer, Boy George, cannot be explained. She saw him in concert and bought the “T”. You need to be tough and stubborn to live to 90, and she was both. She loved a good laugh and her children sitting around the kitchen table. A high school dropout, she returned at 42 to get her GED and finished LPN school. She was a loving nurse, as was her nature. Her family cannot possibly thank the staff, past and present, enough for loving Myra as their own. They were her family through close calls, falls and COVID. Angels – all. Please consider adding the Alzheimer’s Association to your donation list. Myra is survived by three children.
