CRMC COVID Case Hits High At 28

Cookeville Regional’s COVID case load hit 28 patients Thursday, the highest number since the outbreak began.

CEO Paul Korth said the numbers show more people testing positive across the Upper Cumberland.

“They’ve been in the low-to-mid 20s now for the past couple of weeks,” Korth said. “But there are more people that getting tested positive. If you look at the daily numbers that are coming just out of Putnam County, yesterday, we had 55. I think today’s number was 49. Well over a 100 people who tested positive the last two days.”

Korth said it remains critical that residents wear a mask, wash hands often, social distance and stay out of large groups.

“This is not going away,” Korth said.

CRMC reports nine patients currently in intensive care. The previous high for positive COVID cases at Cookeville Regional was 27.
