Cookeville Regional will change its visitor policy effective Thursday. One designated visitor will be allowed per inpatient.
CEO Paul Korth says the center continues to do all possible to stop the spread of COVID-19.
“We appreciate our community’s understanding and patience regarding the medical center’s visitor restrictions,” Korth said. “We know that the restricted visitation policy has been hard on patients and families and are glad that we can now open up visitation for one visitor per patient in the hospital.”
Visiting hours will be daily from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. No overnight stays will be permitted.
No visitors will be allowed in the Emergency Department. COVID-19 positive or suspect patients will not be allowed visitors. No visitor may join a patient for outpatient testing or appointments. Visitors must be 16 or older.
“Our providers and staff have done an outstanding job in following recommendations to prevent the spread of the virus, through personal protective equipment (PPE), good hand hygiene, proper cleaning and disinfecting as well as the wearing of masks in patient care areas and in public areas throughout the medical center,” Korth said.
Visitors must enter through the North Tower main entrance or the East Entrance. Masks must be worn. Visitors will be screened prior to entry.
