Cookeville Regional Medical Center CEO Paul Korth said no patients are in the hospital with the COVID-19 virus as of Tuesday
“Our Medical Center is not closed, our medical center is not full of patients with the COVID-19 virus,” Korth said. “Matter of fact, our facility is probably at about 50 percent capacity.”
With fewer people coming to the hospital and the current staffing plan, Korth said the medical center has expanded capacity to provide services if needed. Korth said the hospital continues to purchase the necessary supplies should they be needed.
In addition, Korth said the center implemented Governor Bill Lee’s request to end non-emergency procedures.
Cookeville Regional implemented a no visitation policy last week to reduce the risk to staff and patients.
“We are actively limiting the amount of people in our building,” Korth said. “We’re screening those who enter including our providers and our staff.”
