Local residents impacted by Tuesday morning’s tornado may now apply to FEMA for assistance.
To determine your eligibility for funding from the federal government, residents must first register with FEMA. That process begins Saturday. You can register at www.disasterassistance.gov. You may also use the FEMA app on your smartphone. Residents can also call 1-800-621-3362. This line will be open from 7:00am-9:00pm seven days a week.
Residents only need to register in one of the three ways.
Once the registration process begins, FEMA will determine your eligibility. Aid may consist of grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs.
The individual assistance program is part of the overall disaster declaration made by President Trump Thursday night.
