Do you have an interest in owning the future Habitat for Humanity home in Overton County?
If so, you need to attend one of two informational meetings scheduled for next week. Trent Carter is the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity organization.
“With these meetings we’re hoping to accomplish getting people more excited about the Homeownership Program,” Carter said. “But also getting people some more finer details about how the program works. We want to clearly communicate how our program works and make sure no one misunderstands how Habitat works.”
Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity plans to begin construction on the new three-bedroom home in the fall. Carter said the organization will accept homeownership applications until Friday, January 10.
“We hope that we can have a decision made by March,” Carter said. “But sometimes it takes longer than that, especially since we’re just looking for just one homeowner.”
The informational meetings will take place Wednesday, January 8 and Thursday, January 9 at the Millard Oakley Public Library. Both meetings begin at 5 p.m.
