Obituaries For Monday, December 23

Mrs. Nell Floyd Marchbanks, age 101 of Sparta passed away Monday morning, December 23, 2019 at the Life Care Center of Sparta. Arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Funeral services for Deborah Sue Holmes, age 60, of Rickman, will be held Tuesday, December 24, 2019 beginning at 12:00 pm from the chapel of the Crest Lawn Funeral home with Brother Tommy Harris officiating and burial will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. She passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Fairborn, Ohio on Saturday, November 7, 1959 to the late Willie Cloise and Ruby Opal Kilgore. She worked for Sunshine Cleaners for 37 years, and was a member of Zion Hill Methodist Church in Rickman. Deborah married Jeffery Bruce Holmes on July 1, 2011. Deborah is survived by: 1 Son: Ronnie Beaty (Sarah), Cookeville; Stepson – Andrew Holmes (Bethanie), Baxter; 2 Sisters – Charlene Herron, Baxter, Darlene Bourne, Arlington, TX; 1 Brother – Victor Kilgore, Baxter; 5 Grandchildren: Gage Beaty, Maddison Beaty, Lillian Beaty, Cayden Holmes, Maddux Holmes; Father-in-law – Garner Holmes; Mother-in-law -Shirley Holmes; 4 Nieces – Carla Randolph, Teresa Randolph, Tina Flach, Tabitha Strahan; 6 Nephews: Bill Randolph, Tony Randolph, Michael Kilgore, Jim Flach, Chris Carr, Will Anderson; Special Friend – Wanda Williams; Special Friend – Sadie Dyer “Momma.” In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband Jeffery Holmes, 1 Brother – Johnny Wesley Kilgore, 1 Sister – Ruth Randolph, Brother-in-law – Gary H. Randolph, Niece – Tammy Barrett. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, December 24, from 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held for Mr. Willie S. Ragland, Jr. age 91 of Cookeville, on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 1 PM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. Mr. Ragland passed away from this life on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the Heritage Point in Putnam Co. Mr. Ragland was born in Granville on September 30, 1928 to the late Willie Savage and Lettie Canzada (Flatt) Ragland, Sr. Willie Jr. served in the National Guard and was a District Manager with Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Methodist church. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Survivors: 2 Sons: Don Ragland and his wife Jackie, Larry Ragland and his wife Diane; 1 Daughter: Brenda Lewis and her husband Kent; 2 Brothers: Mack Ragland and his wife Ruth, Wesley Ragland and his wife Peggy; 3 Sisters: Frances Napier, Joanne Calabro, Lois Ray and her husband Charlie; 3 Sisters in-law: Judy Ragland, Teresa Ragland, Joy Ragland; 7 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren along with other family and friends also survive. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 26th starting at 11 AM through service time. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Overton Co. Lions Club or the First Church in Livingston.

Funeral services for Janice Allison, age 76, of Chattanooga and formerly of Baxter, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday December 27 at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Sarah Varnell will officiate. Interment will follow in the Allison Cemetery. Janice passed away Sunday evening December 22, 2019 at NHC of Cookeville. Her family will receive friends Thursday 5 – 8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until service time.

Celebration Of Life Services For Harold “Red” Swafford, Age 81, Of Monterey, Will Be Conducted On Friday, December 27, 2019, At 5:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Floyd Will Officiate. Mr. Swafford Was Born On March 15, 1938, In Livingston, To The Late Beulah Swafford Braddam. Mr. Swafford Passed Away On Sunday, December 22, 2019, At His Home. Mr. Swafford Was A Factory Worker, Truck Driver, And Maintenance Man. He Is Survived By His Wife, Pat Floyd Swafford Of Monterey; Daughter, Patty And Dennis Kennedy Of Monterey; Son, Charlie Swafford And Amanda Vernon Of Monterey; 4 Grandchildren, Dennis Jr., Mark, Brent, And Trent Kennedy; 10 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Ina Katherine Hassler Of Monterey. In Addition To His Mother, He Was Preceded In Death By His Sister, Joanne Braddam; And Brothers, Carl, Conrad, Marion “Mo”, And Douglas Braddam. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Friday, December 27, 2019, From 3:00 PM Until Time Of Services At 5:00 PM.

Graveside Funeral Services For Naomi Gay Buckner, 78 of Mayland, Will Be Held At The Mayland Cemetery On Saturday, December 28, 2019, At 1:30 PM. She Was Born June 21, 1941, In Mayland, To The Late Joseph And Bessie (Hamm) Hotsinpiller. Mrs. Buckner Passed Away On Thursday, December 19, 2019, At The Age Of 78. She Worked For Anderson Community Schools For Over 28 Years As A Baker. She Loved Cooking And Spending Time With Her Family. She Is Survived By Her Husband Of 63 Years, MC Buckner; 4 children, Debbie (Husband, David) Hatt, Darla (Husband, Jim) Cope, Terry (Wife, Debbie) Buckner, And Tim (Wife, Monica) Buckner; Grandchildren, Brenda, Eddie, Ryan, Michael, Brandon, Joey, Ashley, Taylor, Payton, And Nolan; 10 Great Grandchildren; And Several Nieces And Nephews.
