A single-vehicle crash resulted in serious injuries in a Dekalb County man Sunday.
Accident reports indicate that 27-year-old Michael Williams was traveling eastbound on Sparta Highway around 3:30 AM.
Williams failed to maintain the lane and ran off the left side of the roadway. William’s 2004 Chevrolet Silverado struck a curb and embankment.
The vehicle ran through the speed limit sign and collided with a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to roll before coming to a final rest on the passenger side.
Accident reports state EMS transported Williams to Dekalb ER. Williams was later transferred to Vanderbilt Medical via life flight.
Reports indicate Williams did not wear a seat belt at the time of the accident.
